You know, it's funny, people think that they can just pick up a digital camera and start taking photos. If only it were true. Heck, I used to think the same thing, until I realized that it just wasn't so and realized that I needed some solid training.
Well, Digital Photography Secrets is about the best book on the subject of digital photography that you're going to find.
Let me give you just a brief run-down of what you're going to find inside.
The best part of the book is that there are over 100 photos inside where the author explains in detail what he did to get the quality for each photo. I have never seen this done in any book before.
He also goes over strategies for taking photos at a number of different occasions, and yes, you do need different ones for each, such as weddings, ball games, fireworks night (I used to have a terrible time with these), shooting sunsets and so many more locations.
And yes, he goes into all the technical stuff which used to be way beyond me such as how to to avoid blurry photos and even how to add sparkle to somebody's eyes. That is one really cool trick.
He even gives you tips on how to handle a low light shoot. This is everybody's biggest problem. Well, at least it was mine. Lighting is a real pain in the rear end.
And he even goes into all the cautions and warnings about using your camera. Yes, it is very easy to turn your digital camera into dust, so you'll want to read these sections.
Of course he goes into a whole thing on editing your photos with Photoshop. If you have this amazing software, you know how complicated it can be. I have Photoshop CS3 and could just about wrap my head around it. This book will help you there immensely.
I could keep on going but why not just go to this site and read for yourself. I promise you, if you're REALLY into digital photography, or want to get much better at it, this book is a MUST read.
